The word quitting,
Has such a negative connotation.
As if we fail,
When we quit.

So we, continue to fight.
For the relationships,
We don’t really want to be in.
For the job,
We tolerate.
For a myriad of desires,
We know, are just not right for us.
But we continue,
Because to quit means to fail.
It doesn’t.

To know when to walk away.
To know when to quit.
To know when it’s a lesson,
And not meant to be the final destination.
Is ownership.

Easy? No.
You find yourself standing,
In the tunnel of darkness.
The unknown.
Demanding you take a step,
Blinded.

I learned this lesson a few years ago.
It was painful at first.
Then, it became severely empowering.
Choice.
To choose.
What do you want?

To know what is not for you.
To know what you don’t want,
Is powerful.

To know what you will not tolerate,
For yourself,
From yourself,
Is becoming.

To choose,
Is to become.
To quit,
Is radical.

What is standing between you and quitting?
